ABOUT THE PROJECT
Resonance Ensemble is proud to partner with Portland Public Schools for the PPS Latinx Youth Choir Project—an initiative that will once again work to bring together Latinx choral students, professional musicians, and community and educational leaders for a spring choral experience, strengthening ties between music, cultural identity, and community, all while providing space for young Latinx singers in Portland to simply be and make music.
Led by conductor Lynn Mendoza-Khan, a Resonance Ensemble artist and founder of Latinx Choral Project, this initiative provides PPS students with a powerful musical experience rooted in Latinx traditions and contemporary expression. Weekly rehearsals began in March, and students are working with Resonance musicians to prepare a rich, multilingual repertoire that explores themes of belonging and cultural pride.
This spring, the PPS Latinx Youth Choir will be featured guests at select events hosted by the Latinx Choral Project.
Stay tuned for performance updates and more ways to support this inspiring collaboration.
