Volunteer Position Descriptions
In-Office Assistance
In-office assistants provide clerical support for staff, such as data entry, file organization, mail preparation, and other administrative projects as needed. Whether you can give a whole day or just an hour, these positions greatly help our small staff stay on top of our day-to-day tasks! Our normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. (Office is located at 3121 South Moody Avenue)
Ushers
Ushers are the face of Resonance Ensemble during performances. Ushers are responsible for helping patrons find their seats, providing thoughtful assistance to our ADA attendees, providing directions on-site, and handing out complimentary programs. Please note that ushering requires long periods of standing, knowledge of the venues, and constant customer service interactions.
Event Set-Up / Strike
For each event, we can always use an extra hand getting the venue ready for the big night - and then returning things to the proper place! Tasks may include anything from unloading signs and boxes from a car for the lobby areas, setting up chairs and other equipment on stage, assisting with doors, or other physical tasks - if you like to move around and work with your hands, this could be the perfect fit for you!
Fundraising Assistance
Whether it’s preparing for our end-of-year campaigns, getting materials together for a grant application, connecting with local businesses for in-kind contributions, or sending out information about our upcoming goals, fundraising helpers play a vital role in keeping the music going for our community all year long! If you think you might be interested in helping our fundraising committee with these higher-level tasks, we’d love to hear from you!
Print Material Distribution
Portland is home to a vibrant arts community with an audience that is always hungry for more! Print distribution greatly helps us get the word out about our work, upcoming performances, and community projects - if you enjoy going about town and talking to local business owners, you could be a great fit for getting postcards, posters, and other print materials into their hands.
Other skills?
We’ve had volunteers help with everything from video production to curriculum development - if you have a skill you’d like to share with Resonance Ensemble, let us know!
