I keep playing the music of An African American Requiem in my head – the music that should be being performed this week. It’s a hard week, and with the help of good friends and quiet moments, I keep repeating, "Everything is going to be alright."

Thank you to all of the artists who have been working hard to make my music heard - to the amazing singers, the players and producers at Oregon Symphony, the wonderful people at All Classical, and of course the creative team here at Resonance Ensemble. I look forward to the day when we can premiere An African American Requiem. 

"Everything is going to be alright." It really, really will. 

Damien also performs with Resonance (bass-baritone) and serves on the Resonance Ensemble Board of Directors.
